Why do I need a disclaimer on my website?
You can limit your legal risks for your website to a certain extent using a disclaimer. For example, think of a reservations for price errors or accuracy of information on your website. But please be aware that the legal value of a disclaimer is rather limited. In many jurisdictions, it is not possible to unilaterally decide that you're not liable or do not accept liability for your errors. Nevertheless, a disclaimer may set a certain tone or serve as an extra warning.
In addition, a disclaimer may also serve a sort of contact page or as a copyright reservation. By using a disclaimer, people cannot claim that it was unclear who to contact or that they were under the impression that all contents on the website were free of copyright.
